What stays on your PC
Your photo library, original files, database, previews, and exported films live in a local data folder. Search, face recognition, photo organization, music analysis, and rendering run locally. Core features work without an internet connection.
What optional AI can receive
If you connect an Anthropic, OpenAI, or ElevenLabs account and choose an AI action, the material needed for that action is sent to that provider. This can include prompts, selected images, or audio for voice generation and transcription. Image analysis requires you to turn it on for the batch.
The studio shows the cost before the action runs and records usage afterward. Your provider bills you separately. API keys are stored encrypted and are not displayed. Disconnect your providers and the core studio continues to work.
Connected providers handle submitted material under their own terms and privacy practices. The studio’s local-storage promise does not mean material you deliberately send to a provider stays on your PC.
Face recognition is a suggestion
The face model runs locally. You confirm names and correct matches. A suggestion is not a verified identity, and people’s appearances change. Your corrections help keep your own library accurate.
What a share link exposes
Private share links allow someone on your home network to watch the film you choose to share. Links expire, can have view limits, and stream through short-lived signed URLs. They are not public cloud links.
Access from outside the home network is not provided by default. Making the computer accessible from the internet changes who may be able to reach it.
Your backup is yours, too
The database, originals, previews, and exports are kept in one data folder. Copy it to a backup drive to preserve your studio, and copy it back to restore. Protect the computer and backup drive as you would any personal family archive.
